EVA MUELLER (Art Chicago)
Photographer Eva Mueller is known for her stark, minimalistic images with a sometimes dark, humorous twist. Timeless, iconic yet fun images are well represented in her body of work. A noted music and fashion photographer, who works in London and New York, Mueller’s sense of style grows from training in graphic design in her native Germany. With her keen eye for concept and composition, Mueller’s work transcends traditional photography and veers into the wildly artistic. See evamueller.com.

The naked body in all incarnations is a major focus of her work and Mueller has developed a sophisticated technique to project textures and architectural elements onto naked bodies. Superimposing these sometimes subtle, sometimes startling symbols onto her nude subjects allows the photographer to makes a broader visual statement.

Mueller’s series of non-figurative photographs, entitled Hazyvision, are abstract images shot while the photographer is traveling, capturing the sign language of airport tarmacs, blurred luminescent colors of Times Square at night, or creating patterns through the blur of a moving train. These engaging works can be viewed at hazyvision.com.
