last night's show

o.k., cats and dolls. i'm gonna need some help here. wasn't able to get out to last night's performance art show, so i'll need some good soul to whip up some insightful and informative commentary for the rest of us to drool over (i, for one, am hoping for a photo of the body painting).
i have a 17-year-old son on foreign exchange living in bangkok who seems to need round the clock strong-arming and threats from abroad to stay out of the red zone. the exchange students with smart parents have already been evacuated. child (A), though, is in love with a 25-year-old thai girl (did I mention he is 17?) and is pleading a strong case for the importance of love in times of war.
my hair is falling out, i am losing weight, my stomach hurts, i can't sleep....and yet....wouldn't it be cool to be a 17-year-old boy falling in love in another language? watching history being made through your bedroom window as you duck and cover? sneaking out to see your forbidden lover?
Am I a bad parent for giving him permission to stay?
Salon Sisters: please advise.

  1. I am personally a die-hard romantic and give you kudos for honoring and supporting your son in the face of danger but silver lined with intrigue and above all else.. love and passion and the like! You are affording him an all-to-often once-in-a-lifetime experience. We will keep you and him and his lover in our prayers that the sheer power of love and good-will will keep them safe from any harm great or small.
